Volleyball
NorthWood def. Tippecanoe Valley, 25-8, 25-8, 25-15 (Thursday): Hadley Wise led Valley with five kills in a loss to No. 4 NorthWood in a Class 3A, Sectional 20 quarterfinal at West Noble Thursday.
Mackaylie Costello had two aces and a block. Jasmine Fuller also had a block.
Avery Wagoner had eight assists, and Gaby Gonzalez had five digs.
NorthWood had 20 aces.
Valley finished 19-13 and won their first ever conference championship in volleyball. Valley has never won a sectional title in volleyball.
Valley seniors included Wagoner, Costello, Elise Smith, Haley Durkes and Emma Patrick.
Valley also lost 25-19, 25-21, 25-8 to NorthWood in their regular season meeting on Sept. 11.
NorthWood went on to defeat Fairfield and West Noble on Saturday to win their sixth consecutive sectional title.
