Valley adds girls game against John Glenn Saturday

Wagner nominated for player of week

Girls basketball

The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team has added a game with John Glenn to its schedule. Game time is 3:30 p.m./5 p.m. (JV/Varsity) Saturday at Valley.

A varsity boys game between Winamac and Valley will follow at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The Valley girls’ next game is 6:15 p.m./7:45 p.m. (JV/Varsity) Thursday against Manchester at home.

Valley at Wawasee, canceled: The Valley-Wawasee girls basketball game scheduled for Tuesday was canceled due to inclement weather.

The teams could meet in a Class 3A, Sectional 20 semifinal at Wawasee on Feb. 5.

Wagner nominated for player of week: Valley senior point guard Sidney Wagner was nominated for the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Franciscan Health player of the week award for the week of Jan. 18 for District 1 girls.

Wagner averaged 24 points per game in Three Rivers Conference wins over Peru, North Miami and Southwood. Wagner scored a career-high 37 points in a 58-43 win over Southwood Saturday.

The award went to North Judson senior guard-forward Lilliann Frasure.

Boys basketball

Game with Winamac moved to 6:30 p.m.: Start time for the Winamac-Valley boys basketball game Saturday has been moved up from 7:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The JV game has been canceled.

The boys game will follow the varsity girls game between John Glenn and Valley.
