Strycker scores career-high 30, McKaig adds career-high 21 as Pioneer routs Frontier

Girls basketball

Pioneer 63, Frontier 30 (Thursday): Makenna Strycker scored 30 points, and Mia McKaig added a career-high 21 as the Pioneer girls basketball team routed visiting Frontier at The Cage Thursday for their eighth straight win.

Strycker hit four 3-pointers, and McKaig made five. They also combined to make 12 of 15 free throws. Neither played in the fourth quarter.

Pioneer led 48-19 at halftime and extended the lead to 60-25 after three quarters. The fourth quarter was played with a running clock.

Frontier lost their sixth straight game and fell to 1-14.

Pioneer improved to 9-7. Pioneer beat Frontier for the ninth straight year.
