Rochester sweeps singles, beats Mac in regular season finale

Rochester 3, Maconaquah 2 (Wednesday): Ella McCarter, Audrey Bolinger and Rylee Clevenger all won singles matches in straight sets for the Rochester girls tennis team in a win over visiting Maconaquah in their regular season finale.

McCarter beat Molly Tenny 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Bolinger returned to the lineup and beat Finley Dobbs 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Clevenger handled Zoe Moore 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Taylor Howard and Chloe Nichols lost to Josie Callane and Kiera Rosenow 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, and Sophie McCall and Emma Murphy fell to Chloe Smyth and Lacie Williams 6-1, 6-1.

Rochester improved to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in the Three Rivers Conference.

The IHSAA draw is at 7 p.m. Monday. Sectionals are expected to start Wednesday.

Maconaquah won the JV match 4-3. Vivian Miller and Lakodah Clevenger won singles matches for Rochester. Miller teamed with Addi Sutton for a doubles win.
