Maconaquah girls win 9th straight, boys win 10th straight

The Rochester girls swimming team scored 106 points and finished fifth out of six teams at the Three Rivers Conference meet at Maconaquah Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Rochester boys scored 70 points and finished sixth out of seven teams.
In the girls meet, the highest placing Rochester swimmers in an individual event were Aubrey Miller, who swam a 29.40 and tied for sixth in the 50 freestyle, and Audrey Widman, who swam a 1:27.77 and finished sixth in the 100 butterfly.
The 200 medley relay, which consisted of Ava Thomas, Lily Chipps, Widman and Miller, was fifth. The 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays both finished sixth.
The highest-placing Rochester boy was senior Reece Johnson, who took sixth in the 100 butterfly in 1:07.64 and seventh in the 200 individual medley in 2:29.36.
Both the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays took fifth. Brevin Nicholson, Grant Bailey and Johnson swam on both relays; Joshua Seuferer joined them on the medley relay while Tanner Hamilton joined them on the freestyle relay.
Rochester did not have a 200 freestyle relay team.
Maconaquah won both the girls and boys titles in their home pool. The girls have won nine straight titles, and the boys have won 10 straight.
