Boys tennis
Peru 5, Rochester 0 (Friday): The Rochester boys tennis team fell to host Peru in the sectional final at Thrush Courts Friday to end its season.
Rochester finished 9-6.
Rochester lost all five matches in straight sets.
Tanner Reinartz lost 6-3, 6-3 to Jacob Boswell at No. 1 singles to finish his senior season 14-1. Boswell avenged a loss to Reinartz in their Three Rivers Conference match at Rochester on Sept. 5.
Also, Lucas Musser beat Wade Bowers 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, and Carter Musser beat Jack Reffett 6-2, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.
In the doubles matches, Jackson Boswell and Gavin Eldridge defeated Harrison Dunwoody and Brady Morgan 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, and Jadin Pallante and Karter Schwarz handled Carter Merideth and Ashton Musselman 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2.
Peru won their seventh consecutive sectional title. Rochester has not won a sectional since 1983.
Peru will play Bluffton at the Bluffton regional semifinals today.
