Morris signs with DePauw for basketball

Argos senior J.J. Morris has signed to continue his basketball and academic careers at DePauw University.

A 6-6 forward who began playing on the varsity as a freshman, Morris averaged a team-high 19.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in leading Argos to a 15-8 record in 2022-23.

He scored his 1,000th career point in a 65-36 win over North Miami on Jan. 10, and he finished with 1,231 career points.

He was the RTC boys basketball player of the year in 2022. He played on Argos’ sectional championship team in 2020.

DePauw is an NCAA Division III school located in Greencastle. Coach Rusty Loyd guided the Tigers to an 18-9 record in 2022-23.
