Winamac 2, Rochester 1 (Tuesday): Brooke Rausch and Adrianna Hall combined on a two-hitter, and Maggie Keller and Lauren Bruce had RBIs in the fourth inning as the Winamac softball team edged visiting Rochester Tuesday.
Mylee Heinzmann drove in Brailyn Hunter with an RBI single in the second to give Rochester a 1-0 lead.
Rochester pitcher Bria Rensberger had a perfect game through three innings, but Brody Goodman singled to lead off the fourth. Goodman singled to lead off the fourth, went to second on a passed ball and to third on Rausch’s groundout to first base.
Keller then reached second on an error on the catcher to score Goodman. Corrin Combs’ single moved Keller to third, and Bruce’s single scored Keller to give Winamac the lead.
Rochester did not have a baserunner after the third inning. Hall retired all nine batters she faced, including five strikeouts, for the save.
Rensberger suffered a finger injury while batting and had to leave the game. She allowed three hits and two runs in five innings. She walked one and struck out seven.
Mia Howdeshell pitched a scoreless sixth in relief.
