Potthoff adds 17 as Winamac improved to 3-1 in Hoosier North

Winamac 56, North Miami 52 (Friday): Brendan Hines made nine of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter and scored 20 points, and Justin Potthoff added 17 as Winamac earned a Hoosier North home win Friday.
Jaybin Hines added eight points and Will Malchow had six for Winamac, who improved to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in the Hoosier North.
Jake Riley led North Miami with 20 points. Lake Musall added 12, and Kale Deardorff had 10, all in the fourth quarter.
North Miami (4-6, 2-2) hit five 3-pointers and scored 28 points in the fourth quarter but could not overcome a 13-point deficit heading into the fourth.
Winamac led 19-11 at halftime and extended the lead to 37-24 after three quarters.
This was the teams’ first meeting since Winamac’s 55-50 win in last year’s sectional quarterfinals.
