Heinzmann has 3 hits, 3 RBIs, Miller, Hunter add 2 RBIs each in win over Plymouth

Rochester 11, Plymouth 7 (Thursday): Mylee Heinzmann had three hits and three RBIs, and Aubrey Miller and Brailyn Hunter had two RBIs each as the Rochester softball team held off host Plymouth Thursday.

Meanwhile, Bria Rensberger struck out 12 in six innings and earned the win. Rensberger and Mia Howdeeshell combined on a five-hitter. Rochester won despite committing four errors, which led to six unearned runs over the final two innings.

Aubrey Wilson, Jadyn Field and Howdeshell had one RBI each.

Heinzmann had two singles and a triple as part of the Lady Zs’ 16-hit attack. Miller and Jadyn Field also had three hits, all singles. Howdeshell had two singles. Darah Strasser doubled, and Hunter, Wilson, Rensberger and Gabby Medina each singled.

Rensberger pitched the first five innings. Howdeshell pitched the sixth, and Rensberger returned for the seventh.

Rensberger allowed three hits and no earned runs. She walked two and struck out 12. Howdeshell allowed two hits and one earned run. She walked none and struck out one.

Hunter had a two-run single, Field had an RBI single, and Heinzmann had a two-run single as part of a five-run sixth, but Plymouth scored four runs in the bottom half to extend the game to a seventh inning.
