Douglass scores 14, but West Central pulls away in 2nd half to beat Caston

West Central 48, Caston 25 (Thursday): Madi Douglass scored 14 points, but the Lady Comets scored only one point in the third quarter in a home loss to sectional rival West Central Thursday.

Freshmen Grace Colvin and Allison Craig had five and four points, respectively, in their first prep games.

Caston shot 15 percent from the field, made just one of 16 3-pointers and went 14 of 29 from the foul line.

West Central had a 46-28 rebounding advantage. They had 13 turnovers as compared to Caston’s 29.

Craig had eight rebounds, and sophomore post Natalie Warner had four rebounds and four blocked shots. Douglass had four steals, and Colvin had three steals.

West Central led 17-14 at halftime and extended the lead to 26-15 after three quarters.
