Culver scores 6 in 7th, stuns Culver Academy 15-14

Culver baseball remains winless

Softball

Culver 15, Culver Academy 14 (Wednesday): Abbi Kisela went 3 for 3 with an RBI, and Kaitlyn Kanschat had a hit and three RBIs as Culver came back from a 10-run deficit to stun Culver Academy Wednesday.

Culver trailed 13-3 after three innings and still trailed 14-9 after six before scoring six in the seventh.

Jane Wright had two hits and two RBIs, and Kaylee Hamilton had a single, a double and an RBI.

Luci Overmyer had a hit, three stolen bases and two RBIs, and Maegan Pearl had a hit and an RBI. Marissa Milam doubled, and A.J. Hinds singled.

Hinds, a sophomore, allowed 13 hits and nine earned runs in the circle for the win. She walked eight and struck out three.

The game featured 14 walks and five hit batters.

Caston 27, Culver 2 (5 innings, Tuesday): Caston bounced back after suffering their first loss against North Miami Monday to beat Culver and improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Hoosier North Tuesday.

Kinzie Mollenkopf had five hits, and Maddi Smith went 3 for 4.

Addison Zimpleman had a homer and a triple. Isabel Scales singled and tripled. Eillie Deming tripled and scored three times. Annie Harsh doubled and scored three times.

Layne Oliver and Macee Hinderlider had two hits each.

Mollenkopf also got the win in the circle. She didn’t allow a run after the first inning and struck out seven.

Caston led 22-2 after two innings.

Maegan Pearl had a single and a double for Culver. Sylvia Rodriquez, Kaylee Hamilton, Kaitlyn Kanschat and Luci Overmyer each had a single. Kanschat and Overmyer each had a single.

Luci Overmyer singled and doubled, and Jane Wright and A.J. Hinds also had two hits for Culver.

Abbi Kisela had a hit and three RBIs, and Marissa Milam had a double and two RBIs. Hinds, Wright and Maegan Pearl had one RBI each.

Kaylee Hamilton and Chloe Darnell had one RBI each.

Hinds pitched a nine-hitter. She allowed two earned runs and struck out three.

Culver scored five runs in the first inning and never trailed. They also scored five runs in the seventh.

Jackson Kindig, Jaiden Klingerman and Kole Burkholder added two hits each.

Kurt Johnson had a hit and scored three times. Kindig also scored three times.

Dylan Kindig got the win on the mound. Burkholder got the save. They combined to hold Culver to two hits.

Argos led 8-0 after two innings.
