Culver’s Madison Beach finished fourth at 170 pounds at the Hobart sectional Friday to advance to the regional.
Beach began her day with a loss by fall in 1:50 to Chesterton’s Madison Boatright, but she rebounded in the wrestleback round to pin Boone Grove’s Alexis Zeigler in 1:47. She then earned her regional ticket with a 6-2 decision over Hobart’s Gaby Robles.
She then lost to Valparaiso’s Jade Cheek by fall in 1:16 in the third-place match.
Beach will travel to Goshen for the regional at 10 a.m. this Friday. She will face Highland’s Kate Robinson in the first round. A wrestler must win two matches to advance to state.
