Schlemmer leads with 9 in loss to Glenn in Bi-County semis

Culver 43, Knox 19 (Tuesday): Ashlynn Berndt and Brynn Berndt scored 12 points each, and Ava McCune added 11 for the Culver girls basketball team in a home win over Knox Tuesday.
Ashlynn Berndt made four 3-pointers, and Brynn Berndt hit two 3s.
The Culver defense held Knox to four field goals.
Culver had lost eight of their previous nine meetings with the Lady Redskins.
Culver led 18-9 at halftime and extended their lead to 27-13 after three quarters.
Culver is 13-8. The 13 wins are their most since the 2014-15 season.
Knox (4-18) will carry a six-game losing streak into its Class 2A, Sectional 34 quarterfinal at home against Winamac.

John Glenn 37, Culver 28 (Thursday): Brianna Schlemmer came off the bench to hit three 3-pointers and score a team-high nine points, but Culver lost to John Glenn in a Bi-County Tournament semifinal at LaVille’s Dale E. Cox Gymnasium Thursday.
Ava McCune and Ashlynn Berndt added six each, Brynn Berndt had five, and Amiyah Williams had two.
John Glenn made 8 of 11 free throws while Culver was 4 for 12.
John Glenn led 15-14 at halftime and extended the lead to 27-19 after three quarters.
Bremen won the other semifinal 41-36 over LaVille. Bremen then went on to beat John Glenn 42-29 in the championship game Saturday.
