Cooksey carries Valley past Jimtown in OT for INSC title

Tippecanoe Valley 38, Jimtown 35 (OT, Friday): Ian Cooksey hit six 3-pointers and scored 28 points, including all eight Valley points in overtime, as the host Vikings beat Jimtown at Rita Price Simpson Court to win the first Indiana Northern State Conference title Friday.

Blain Sheetz and Stephen Akase added four points each, and DeOndre Hamilton had two.

Dylan Fey, who came in averaging 14 points per game, led Jimtown with nine. Branden King, who came in averaging 18 ppg, was held to eight.

Valley led 17-15 at halftime and 24-23 after three quarters. The game was tied at 30 after regulation.

Valley won their eighth straight game and improved to 14-4. They finished 5-0 in the INSC.

Jimtown dropped to 9-10, 4-1.

Valley won the Three Rivers Conference in their final year in that conference in 2022-23. They were an independent in 2023-24.
