Caston held to 2 shots on goal in sectional loss to Lakeland Christian

The Caston boys soccer team finished 5-8-1 after a 7-0 loss to Lakeland Christian in a Class 1A, Sectional 36 quarterfinal at Argos Monday.

Lakeland Christian 7, Caston 0 (Monday): Jayce Dixon and Jashawn Zelasko had two goals each as the Lakeland Christian boys soccer team eliminated Caston in a Class 1A, Sectional quarterfinal at Argos Monday.

Malakai Robbins, Aiden Yoder and Zaiden Miller added one goal each. Miller and Jay Kwon each had an assist.

Lakeland Christian led 4-0 at halftime, and when Dixon scored in the third minute of the second half, the running clock went into effect per the IHSAA Mercy Rule.

Lakeland Christian had a 12-2 advantage in shots on goal and an 8-0 edge in corner kicks.

Kaemon Lee had five saves for Caston.

The loss snapped Caston’s six-game undefeated streak. The Comets started 0-7 before outsourcing their next six opponents 37-8 and going 5-0-1.

Lakeland Christian also beat Caston 7-0 in their regular season meeting on Sept. 14 at Caston.
