Caston scores season low in sectional final rematch vs. Tri-County

Caston 45, Bethany Christian 21 (Friday): Madi Douglass had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds and added five steals for the host Lady Comets in a win over Bethany Christian in the teams’ first meeting since last year’s Class 1A regional.
Grace Colvin added 12 points. Allison Craig had eight points and five rebounds.
This marked Caston’s final home game. They will finish the season with road games against North Miami, Carroll (Flora) and DeMotte Christian.
Karlee Crume led Bethany Christian with 10 in the loss.
Bethany Christian missed all 12 3-point attempts and made just 5 of 13 free throws.
Caston led 14-2 after one quarter and extended the lead to 26-11 at halftime.
Bethany Christian has lost 15 in a row since a season-opening win over West Noble.
Caston beat Bethany Christian 44-29 last year to win the first regional title in school history.

Tri-County 45, Caston 17 (Thursday): Madi Douglass scored six points to lead Caston in a road loss to Tri-County Thursday. Grace Colvin added five, Natalie Warner had four, and Hadlie Coffing had two.
Hannah Arvin scored a game-high 14 for the Lady Cavaliers.
Tri-County held Caston to 18% shooting from the field and forced 28 turnovers. The 17 points were a season low for Caston.
The teams combined to miss all 18 of their 3-point attempts.
Tri-County, who won their 14th straight game to improve to 15-1, led 20-7 at halftime and extended the lead to 34-12 after three quarters.
This was the teams’ first meeting since Caston beat Tri-County 37-36 in last year’s sectional final at South Newton.
