Caston falls to Carroll despite Douglass’ 18

Girls basketball

Carroll (Flora) 42, Caston 40 (Tuesday): Madi Douglass scored 18 points, grabbed six rebounds and had four steals for Caston in a loss to host Carroll Tuesday.

Grace Colvin added nine and a team-high five assists. Olivia Thomas had six.

Natalie Warner had a team-high 10 rebounds.

Caston outrebounded Carroll 31-29 but made only 4 of 23 3-point attempts and committed 17 turnovers.

Caston led 22-20 at halftime and 33-32 after three quarters.

Eliza Rinehart had 13 points, and Jillian Salts added nine for the Lady Cougars (15-6).

Caston will travel to DeMotte Christian for its regular season finale Thursday. Sectional play begins against Pioneer at West Central on Feb. 5.
