Pioneer senior point guard Ashylnn Brooke was selected to the Indiana Girls All-Star team Tuesday.

She was one of 12 players chosen statewide and is the first Pioneer basketball player, boy or girl, to receive the honor.

Brooke will play in three games for the All-Stars – an exhibition game against the Junior All-Stars on June 7 at a site to be determined, a game against the Kentucky All-Stars at the Owensboro Sportscenter in Owensboro, Ky., on June 9 and a second game against the Kentucky All-Stars at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on June 10.

All three games will be doubleheaders with the Indiana Boys All-Stars. The Indiana Boys All-Stars will be announced at a later date.

Brooke averaged 23.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 5 steals per game for the Lady Panthers, who went 21-4 in 2022-23. She finished with 1,533 career points in 73 games (21.0 ppg).

The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association organizes and produces the Indiana portion of the All-Star Games.

Game organizers from the IBCA oversee the balloting process for Miss Basketball. Members of the coaches and media vote.

All-Stars Game Director Mike Broughton finalizes the remainder of the team after observing numerous games and events throughout the season, conferring with coaches, school officials and media across the state. Broughton also reviews votes submitted by coaches and media who each could recommend up to 10 players. (RTC’s Val Tsoutsouris was among the voters.)

Zionsville’s Laila Hull was voted Miss Basketball on Monday. Penn’s Kristi Ulrich will coach the Indiana All-Stars. Triton Central’s Bryan Graham and Garrett’s Bob Lapadot will assist.
