Brant Beck pitches 6 innings for win, Rochester overcomes 4 errors

Rochester 7, Winamac 6 (Saturday): Brady Beck had two doubles and two RBIs, and Gavin Young tripled and walked three times and drove in a run to lead the Rochester baseball team past Winamac Saturday.
Parker Casper had a single and an RBI, and Tanner Reinartz and Jake Seuferer each had an RBI for Rochester.
Brady Coleman doubled, walked and scored a run, and Carson Paulik singled and scored a run. Drew Bowers singled and scored a run.
Brant Beck allowed four runs (two earned) over six innings for the win. He allowed six hits and walked two and struck out five. Young got the save despite allowing two hits and two runs with a walk and a strikeout in the seventh.
Brayden Mathias allowed five hits and five runs (all earned) over 4 ⅔ innings in taking the loss for Winamac. He walked four and struck out four. Cody Wheeler relieved and allowed two hits and two runs (both earned) in 2 ⅓ innings. He walked two and fanned one.
Addison Allen had a pair of singles as part of Winamac’s eight-hit attack. Conner Burton had a double and an RBI, and Mathias also had a double.
Ayden Jimenez singled and drove in a run. Cash Roth, Wyatt Wheeler and John Malchow all had singles.
Rochester won despite committing four errors, but they also turned a 4-6-3 double play on Wyatt Wheeler’s grounder while nursing a lead in the bottom of the seventh.
