Behind singles sweep, Valley girls tennis beats Bethany Christian in opener

Girls tennis

Tippecanoe Valley 4, Bethany Christian 1 (Thursday): Karegan Callahan, Savana Miller and Bella Parker each won their singles matches, and Karley Hallstrom and Maci Parker won at No. 2 doubles for the visiting Lady Vikings in a season-opening win over Bethany Christian Thursday.

Callahan rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Anna Shrock at No. 1 singles, and newcomer Miller won 6-4, 6-3 over Cassie Nice at No. 2 singles. Parker rallied from a set down to beat Brianna Moser 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

Hallstrom and Maci Parker beat Rachel Hirschler and Dahlia Thut 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Sarah Finney and Ella Sandbakken dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Adrienne Chupp and Cori Chupp.

Valley also won the JV match 2-0.

This was Valley’s last match before spring break. The season resumes against Rochester April 15.

Sienna Holder-Taylor Owens (TV) won 8-5.
