Argos girls ranked No. 13 in preseason poll

The Argos girls soccer team is ranked No. 13 in the preseason Class 1A coaches poll.

They are the only team in Sectional 36 that is ranked, they are the only ranked RTC area team, and they are the only ranked team from the Hoosier North.

In Class 2A, NorthWood is ranked No. 14. They are in the same sectional with Tippecanoe Valley.

There are no RTC boys soccer teams that are ranked. Also, there are no ranked teams from the Three Rivers, Hoosier North and Indiana Northern State conferences.

Defending state champion Bethany Christian is No. 1 in Class 1A. Carroll (Flora), the team that Argos defeated in last year’s regional semifinal, is No. 16.

Park Tudor, who defeated Argos in the regional final, has moved up to Class 2A based on IHSAA Success Factor, and they are ranked No. 15 in their new class.

Teams began practicing Monday. Teams can play their first games on Aug. 17.
