5 from baseball champion Comets named All-Hoosier North

3 Winamac, 2 Pioneer players, plus Culver’s J. McCuen also make first team

Baseball

Five players from conference champion Caston – seniors Lance Hanna, Caleb Stinson, Talon Zeider and Pete DuVall and sophomore Gavin Mollenkopf – were selected first-team all-Hoosier North in voting done by the conference’s coaches and released to the media Wednesday.

In addition, Caston’s Edison Byrum and Grant Yadon were both picked honorable mention all-conference.

Pioneer players recognized included Brayden Erickson and Eli Guffey for the first team and Lucas Perry and Lane Weldy for honorable mention.

Winamac’s Addison Allen, Brody Wenzler and Wyatt Wheeler made the first team, and Brayden Mathias made honorable mention.

Jonas McCuen was the lone Culver player to make the first team. Hayden Parker made honorable mention.

LaVille’s Lucas Plummer was named conference MVP.

Caston won the conference title with an 11-3 record, beating LaVille on the final day of the season to win it outright. It was Caston’s first baseball conference title since 1976.
