Girls basketball
Winamac 45, North Newton 13 (Tuesday): Marissa Iverson tossed in a game-high 26 points, and the Winamac defense held North Newton scoreless in the fourth quarter to cap off a home win Tuesday.
Iverson scored 13 points in each half. She made eight of 10 free throws.
Kandace Kroft added eight, and Sadie Popejoy had seven, all in the second half.
Winamac led 22-9 at halftime and extended the lead to 34-13 after three quarters before pitching a fourth-quarter shutout.
Tatum Cahill led the Lady Spartans with six points.
Winamac begins a three-game road trip Saturday with their conference opener against Caston.
