Winamac athletic director Bill Ball said on his Twitter account Wednesday that football coach John Hendryx has been selected to the Indiana Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Hendryx guided Winamac to a sectional title in his first year as coach in 2020.
He previously coached at Carroll (Flora), Northwestern and Knox. Among his previous accomplishments, he coached Carroll to the Class 1A state title in 1995, he coached Northwestern to a sectional title in 2007, and he coached Knox to its first sectional title in school history in 2019.
Hendryx is a 1980 Winamac grad.
Also, the Seeger Athletics Twitter account reported that coach Herb King has also been selected for the Hall of Fame.
King has coached back-to-back winning seasons at Seeger, which marks the first time that school has accomplished that feat since 2007-08. He was previously the head coach at North Putnam and Rockville, where he guided that school to a state runner-up season in 2007 and a sectional title in 2008.
King is a 1980 Tippecanoe Valley grad.
