Winamac finishes 3rd behind all-TRC player Haschel; Caston’s Reidenbach makes honorable mention

Pioneer’s Mia McKaig shot an 83 to earn Hoosier North medalist honors at Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek Saturday.
McKaig beat the field by 11 strokes.
McKaig birdied the par-5 12th hole and followed with four straight pars. She was the only one of the 34 participating players to birdie No. 12. She also parred the par-3 10th and was the only player not to shoot a bogey or worse on the hole.
As a team, Pioneer shot a 448 and finished fourth out of six complete teams. Emma Juby had a 118, Brenner McLain had a 121, Kendra Hanson had a 126, and Selena Johnson had a 127.
The highest finishing area team was Winamac, who shot a 434 and finished third. Sierra Haschel shot a 99, Hunter Hines had a 108, Mershai Loehmer had a 112, Kaelyn O’Connor had a 115, and Emily Weaver had a 121.
Haschel made the all-conference team by finishing in the top eight, and Hines, Loehmer and O’Connor earned honorable mention status by finishing between ninth and 16th places.
Meanwhile, Caston shot a 505 and finished sixth. Kylie Reidenbach fired a 115 to earn honorable mention, Shayley Strasser had a 125, Angel McVicker had a 132, Anselma Ramirez had a 133, and Alyssa Smith had a 135.
Culver had an incomplete team. Madison Beach, the lone Lady Cav, shot a 136.
North Miami won with a 409 in their first year in the conference. North Judson was second with a 422.
North Miami shot a 452 and finished ninth at the 2023 Three Rivers Conference tournament, which also was held at Round Barn.
