Caston edges Culver; Rans’ 3 TDs help Pioneer rout South Central; NM pulls away in 4th quarter, beats Winamac

Jimtown 14, Tippecanoe Valley 0 (Friday): Ty Zartman ran for two touchdowns in the second half, and the Jimtown defense held Valley to 127 yards of offense to stay undefeated in Indiana Northern State Conference play Friday.
Grady Moriarty led Valley with 67 yards rushing on 20 carries.
Brandon Stiles had 23 yards rushing, and he also had an interception and an 18-yard return on defense.
Valley committed four turnovers – three fumbles and an interception.
Zartman led Jimtown with 85 yards rushing, but no other Jimmie had more than 13 yards.
The game was tied 0-0 at halftime.
Valley lost despite Jimtown failing to convert on all five of its fourth down conversions.
Valley is 1-7 all-time against Jimtown.
Knox and Jimtown are tied for the INSC lead at 3-0. Valley is 4-2, 1-2 INSC.

Caston 21, Culver 20 (Friday): Jabez Yarber ran for 132 yards, and Ashton Bowyer ran for 108 yards and two touchdowns as the Comets earned a Hoosier North road win over Culver Friday.
Gavin Mollenkopf threw for 118 yards, which included a touchdown pass to Logan Moillenkopf. Logan Mollenkopf had two catches for 93 yards and a touchdown. Lucius Edson and Brody Brewer had one reception each.
Tucker Woolever led the defense with 10 tackles, and Yarber had nine. Ashtyn Peters had an interception. London Herd had a sack.
Caston led 7-6 at halftime.
Caston defeated Culver for the second straight year. Prior to last year, Caston had lost eight straight times to the Cavaliers.

Pioneer 57, South Central (Union Mills) 6 (Friday): Quarterback Micah Rans ran for 60 yards and three touchdowns on six carries and also returned a punt for a score, and Phillip McFatridge scored three touchdowns – two rushing and one receiving – and accounted for 64 yards of offense in Pioneer’s Hoosier North road win over South Central Friday.
Jason Gluth also had 57 yards rushing and a touchdown. Pioneer averaged 9.2 yards per carry as a team, and Rans completed four of five passes for 36 yards.
Eli Guffey led the defense with 10 solo tackles and five assists, including 2.5 tackles for loss. J.J. Solano and Shiloh Rine had six tackles for loss.
Pioneer led 49-6 at halftime.
In other Hoosier North action Friday, No. 1 North Judson shut out No. 6 Triton 40-0. That leaves Pioneer and North Judson as the only remaining unbeatens on conference play.
North Miami 41, Winamac 14 (Friday): Tearson Wolford had an 8-yard touchdown run, and Aiden Schooler threw a 15-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter for Winamac in a loss to host North Miami Friday.
Wolford had 35 yards rushing, but no other Winamac player had more than 13. North Miami had a 389-63 advantage in rushing yards.
Addison Allen led Winamac receivers with two catches for 64 yards and a touchdown. He also had 14 tackles and eight assists on defense. Wolford had six tackles and five assists. Louis Rugg III had two fumble recoveries.
North Miami led 22-0 at one point in the third quarter. Winamac crept within 22-14 before North Miami scored three unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Winamac is 2-3, 1-3 Hoosier North.
